Our favorite feature is the Direct Connect system: The tool itself has no power cord, just a receptacle for your extension cord and a super locking mechanism to keep the cord connected. It's so secure that you can actually lower the tool off scaffolding to the ground by the cord. Next time you accidentally cut the cord, it won't put the whole saw out of commission: Just grab another extension cord. Storage is a breeze, too, because there's no integrated cord to tangle with. We love the left-side blade for unmatched line of sight, the worm drive gear train will hold up for years under the toughest conditions. Changing depths and bevels are fast, easy, single-lever operations, and you'll like the lower guard design when slicing off a narrow piece because it does not snag. I noticed the RPM on my saw is way slower than my friend's (same saw, but new). I see some wear, but it's in great shape. You have to use certain type of cord, otherwise it will not go into the socket. The cord socket makes this saw bulkier than other saws and in my toolbox. Buy Skil Mag77 or Makita Hypoid Mag.

The tag may say "Reconditioned" but the saw I received is in absolutely new condition. A pleasure to use, it makes the work day seem shorter. And at a really good price, too.

With the skyhook and direct connect, I like this saw better than the Makita hypoid. The power is dramatically increased.

It is a great saw. I have been using this saw almost daily for over a year now.

One thing I would definately recommend is using a 10/3 cord. The only problem I have had is the clasp which holds the cord fell out, but that did not seem to affect anything.

One would not know that this is a reconditioned saw. Also, the 24 tooth framing blade by Freud is the best.

Improved over the Mag 77- more power (15 amps vs 13 of the Mag 77, the redesigned blade guard is less likely to hang up on bevel cuts, and the shoe is far less likely to flex than that of the Mag 77. Saw looked new. The Direct Connect works great; plug your extension cord directly into the saw. The built in rafter hook is a slick idea. no way to tell it was a recon other than a sticker and the box it came in. Great saw at an excellent price.

So far, good performance, comfortable weight, good power, can't tell it has been reconditioned. Sky hook is wonderful feature.
